Its been a rainy, pensive, melancholy weekend. I happened to catch this video this morning while drinking my coffee, and it definitely struck a chord. Today marks three years since Dads passing, and with my wedding just around the corner, hes been on my mind practically nonstop. Its also been a rough go for mom lately, and yet she just keeps on trucking through and fighting off a disease that so many others would have given up on years ago, that was supposed to take her years ago. People really have the wrong idea about cancer. They think you get a diagnosis, get your treatment, go through a small amount of time of illness, then youre good. If you are living with cancer, you literally have to fight every single day of your life to keep going, that there are never any truly good days, there are only bad days and mostly tolerable days...and I know that mom only goes through it all for us, for Ava. Long story short, its been a rough weekend, but if there is one positive feeling I can relish through all of this hardship...Im so fortunate to have the best, most selfless parents a child could ask for, and Im so appreciative of the struggles theyve endured for us.
