Its been a while since Ive posted a sermon or a testimonial. However, todays events isnt something to take for granted. For everything I dont know or dont understand, the one constant thing that I do know is there is a God and hes truly blessed me! Last night while doing some odd and end stuff to get ready for our vacation, I heard Jacob engaged in a conversation. I listened to see who he was on the phone with but it didnt take me long to realize, he wasnt on the phone. Jacob spoke out, ole Sherrie Lynn I love you! Oh, Auntie, I miss you....I thought oh my, here comes the tears. So, I tried to jokingly ask, Jacob you talking to Auntie?. He answers with a yeah. I told him it was okay as he prayed to God he could also talk to auntie, papaw, mamaw, everyone he loves because God lets us do that. The night goes on, he goes to bed...all is well, right? No, not even close. Wake up this morning still doing odd and end stuff for vacation, Jacob gets up like he always does, takes meds, watches TV while Im doing laundry etc. Told him to get his clothes on we had errands to run. We did and while out I told him Id order food, lay in the tanner, grab food and come home to eat while I packed. Simple, right? NO!!! I get the food ordered, hit the tanner, and about 10 minutes in the session, I hear several knocks on the door. Whoa...so I get up and go to the door (half dressed) for the owner to ask me to please come and check on Jacob. My first thought was hes lost it. She proceeds to tell me the various things hes doing and then Im thinking...oh hes okay. Well, when I walked out to him (yes, I dressed), I saw this kid shaking and kind of clammy feeling. I thought his blood sugar had dropped because this morning, he didnt really eat anything. So, we got him a snack and a soda. The owner proceeds to tell me how he came behind the counter, put his hands on her face, had her put his hands on his face, and him telling her he didnt feel right. Another young lady also experienced the same thing from him. As he ate, I asked a 101 questions..does this feel right? does this hurt? you okay? whats bothering you? Finally, he told me to go on like he so often does. As I was going back to finish my tanning session, I see Jacob get up, go over to the young lady and put his hands on her face, take her hands, put on his face, then he takes her hands and puts them together as in praying hands form. By this time, Im thinking okay.. this is weird because he doesnt act this way. As I began to more less scold him for touching a person without permission, my spirit was quickened. He wanted this young lady to pray for him! Me, the woman with all the faith, for a moment was embarrassed. I thought oh my, Jacob you cant do this, not in a public establishment, and not putting someone on the spot like that. SHAME ON ME! After a few minutes passed, me trying to convince Jacob to leave, and him flat out refusing to leave, the owner goes to the young lady. Both come walking over to Jacob, the young lady quickly took on angel form. There was Jacob and I sitting on a bench as she knelt down asking Jacob if he wanted her to pray for him. He said yes. She asked what for and he clearly said his heart for papaw. As she prayed the sweetest prayer, Jacob took her hand and placed it on his heart. The trembling began to cease and a smile came back to his face. As she asked if he felt better he told her yes and she comes back with, do you need or want anything else? He say yes, a hug. Gotta love my son. Obviously, Jacob saw something in her sweet face that no one was seeing; She, being the kind soul she was and is, trying ease Jacobs discontent, found herself being obedient to Gods call (whether she knew it or not) and blessing my son beyond measure. For me, well all sorts of emotions took over. First and most importantly, asking God to forgive me for trying to stand in HIS way; appreciation for the young lady caring enough to grant Jacob his wish; and thankfulness, that I am the mother of this amazing kid! Life throws us many curve balls and some hit us pretty hard, at times. But, if theres a lesson to be learned; a lesson to be told, its God is God all the time and we all should be ready to act and react according to his will. For in doing so, we most certainly do entertain Angels unaware....Peace and blessings! Make sure you share a hug, a smile, some love, or better yet, a prayer- the very thing that leads us and takes to the throne, with someone!
