Its been a while since my last post about my sugar detox and Ive - TopicsExpress

Its been a while since my last post about my sugar detox and Ive had a few people ask me how it was going so... I was in a consistent detox for 24 days in November. I was as anxious as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs when Thanksgiving day rolled around. I really didnt know what I would do and not having a plan made more nervous. So the outcome...I filled my plate with everything I could that I knew was in line with my detox and then I allowed myself a few bites of those other things like dressing and cranberry sauce. I even allowed myself a small slice of pumpkin pie. Although that was not part of any sugar detox I was successful. For the first time that I can remember I had breaks. I ate two bites of the pie and felt nothing so I stopped! Yes, I STOPPED!!! So for me that is a victory. Of course it would be awesome if I could say that is where my challenge ended but no such luck. My family and I met my folks at our family beach house. The place I spend vacations. Where I relax and where I throw caution to the wind. What do most people do when on vacation? Yep, eat what the hell they want. Almost the moment I walked into the beach house I was finding myself feeling pulled to old habits. It was like starting all over. I managed to not blow my progress out of the water. I learned that I do have control over myself and I can stop myself when needed. This is still a journey and a process. I have continued to avoid any foods with added or hidden sugar and my plan is to continue this way. My new goals are aimed at fine tuning my diet and increasing my frequency at CrossFit Clayton and the one thing I never thought I would try to do again, running. Guess I just put it out there so I gotta get started. 😱
