Its been a year of firsts, so many of them sad: the first birth without her, the first Christmas, the first birthday. Today marks the end of that year of firsts, and while in so many ways it was one of the hardest years I have seen, it was more than just a year of sadness. It was also a year of family, a year of friendship, a year of community, a year of learning self love and how to heal and a year of remembering. Mom, I miss you. Tribe, there but for the grace of you go I. Love to you all.
