Its been an interesting weekend (so far), Man Ure huffed and puffed but did little else allowing West Brom to secure their first win al Old Trafford since the "match of the decade" at the end of the 70`s (which i remember fondly), twice Ferdinand was nutmegged for the goals but the whole United team looked nervous, the Mancs continue to benefit from odd decisions here and there like the free kick that led to Rooneys equaliser, BUT they are failing to get those decisions they used to get, Nani was on his way down before the arm came across, last season at Anfield Valencia won the game for the Mancs with a similar dive, this season it wasnt given. And its not just those kind of decisions, another 3 yellow cards picked up makes 10 for the season after only 5 matches, this time last year they had collected only 6, to quote Mr Zimmerman "The times they are a changing", City were beaten by Villa, I know not how, they should have been out of sight by the time their defence & Hart gifted Villa their winner. By far the most entertaining match was at White Hart Lane where Spurs & Chelsea shared the points, now I dont know why but Torres (The former striker) was on one, maybe the special one had wound him up, I dont know but there were sparks of his former life there, unfortunatly the Chelsea influence also showed itself, After tripping Vertonghen, he raised his hands and scratched the defenders face, so violently that his finger marks could clearly be seen on TV, now i`m not going to hold my breath or anything, but Suarez received a 10 match ban for biting Ivanovic last season, a bite which did not leave a mark, I wonder if the old duffers at the FA will be banning Torres ? The Spaniard continued to niggle away at Vertonghen for the rest of the game until he was shown a second yellow for jumping into the defender. Now again I dont see what all the fuss is about, the trip was worth a yellow, the scratch should have been a straight red and for me Torres knew he was in trouble when he jumped into Vertonghen, thats why he stayed down. All this crap Mourinho is coming out with post match is just comedy, “Maybe I am old fashioned, but I don’t like to see a player trying to claim he has been hit in the face when the replay shows there was nothing" REALLY JOSE, well I dont remember you saying anything when Robben got Reina sent off after pretending he had been floored by Tyson, “In the heart of a game, you can have a bad reaction -- I had it many times -- but for a player to try and convince a referee to give a card that is not there, I think that is worse.” REALLY JOSE, well maybe someone should dig out the DVD of Porto cheating and diving their way to the UEFA cup against Celtic a few years ago, now there was a manager who really knew the art of gamesmanship, I have never noticed before but I honestly think much of Mourinhos ideas are based on Andrew Sachs` Manuel from Fawlty Towers. Oh yes I almost forgot, Kevin Friend won no friends with his dismal performance Hull v West Ham, where he managed to get almost every decision wrong.
