Its been awhile since Ive posted on FB but Mom has been keeping me busy - this is her timeline of events this summer (not counting all the phone calls and trips to the pharmacy) June 7 – pain occurred in lower back while dressing June 12 – visit to Convenient Care June 17 – visit to ER June 18 – visit to ER – diagnosed with compression fracture June 19 – back brace prescribed by neurologist June 29 – appearance of stroke-like symptoms July 2 – appointment with primary care physician July 2 – sent to ER for evaluation of stroke symptoms July 8 – appointment at Ortho 4 States and scheduled for MRI July 16 – appointment with 2nd neurologist for evaluation of stroke symptoms July 17 – MRI to verify compression fracture July 23 – mom’s sister, Virginia Ann, passed away July 31 – kyphoplasty canceled due to stroke symptoms July 31 – graveside services for Virginia Ann Aug 1 – MRI scheduled for brain, head and neck for stroke evaluation Aug 8 – Back pain occurred again in different location Aug 11 – Followup with neurologist – confirmation of stroke, cleared for kyphoplasty Aug 18 – kyphoplasty performed at Ortho 4 States Aug 20 – additional MRI for continuing pain in upper back – diagnosed with 2nd compression fracture Aug 20 – 2nd kyphoplasty performed Aug 20 – spent night in hospital with high blood pressure of 210/97 Aug 21 - released to home with normal blood pressure Sept 2 – scheduled for follow-up at Ortho 4 States Sept 8 – scheduled for follow-up with primary care physician I think were on the road to recovery but it could take awhile. Im hoping that the next couple of appointments will give us some insight for the future. Thanks to everyone for their prayers and concerns - its greatly appreciated. I certainly want to thank Christi, Todd, Jenn and Colby for all their help. I couldnt have done it without them.
