Its been just over a month since the disappointment (for some) of the referendum result. Who actually knew that engaging in politics could be so exiting and generate so much emotional investment! Certainly not I! There have been a number of things that have happened in the last few weeks (surely it is longer than that!) were back in Iraq, austerity is to be cranked up (but dont worry it is geared towards hitting the poorest most!), and Gordon Brown the saviour of the Union has come out to say in reference to the statement made by David Cameron hours after the result was announced that: When carefully analysed, his was not a proposal for greater English rights but for fewer Scottish rights. (Guardian, 17th October 2014) This last event is the most significant for me. The man who brokered that now infamous vow announcing, that for Scotland its not such a great thing after all. There will be people ( by the way fair play to you I youve read this far!) saying why does it matter? 25% of the people who voted No in the referendum did so because they felt that the vow made by the leaders of the major parties was a definite proposition. Its outrageous how Scotland has yet again set itself up to be have Second Class status (Gordons words not mine). Its not all been doom and gloom and the unemployment figures that have been announced are encouraging. There can be no room for complacency and people should look forward to May and ensure that they are as well informed of their voting intention then as they were on the 18th of September. The key thought is to filter out the nonsense from the fact(or probability), easier said than done!
