Its been months since I posted about how a ballet such as The Little Mermaid is created. The narration/script and music have long since been created, cut and re-cut. Now we are deep in rehearsals with the older students, setting choreography and dramatic movement to tell the story. Costume design is under way and several beautiful mermaid skirts have been designed and made. Other costume designs are springing forth from our directors head and its all coming together. Soon, parent volunteers will be getting their hands busy sewing, cutting, gluing and tying and our costume room will begin to resemble a forest of tutus!
