Its been said that the wise man is neither elated by good times, nor deflated by bad. Constant, unchanging, immovable - this wise man is much like a rock, a brick. He is also, unfortunately, an ideal. Even the best of us are prone to being moved, if only by the most tremendous of forces. I find the best thing to do in those times - where an insurmountable force has laid waste to your defenses - is just to smile. It matters not how you feel inside, to be honest - just smile, as reality crumbles around you and all that is left is your self. Smile, and let the world burn around you. A new one takes its place shortly after. One thats easier to live with, and easier to remain strong in.
