Its beginning to look a lot like. . .Last year!!! :) For those of you who visited WBU Yorktown last winter, you may recall the remarkable number of Eastern Bluebirds visiting our store! This of course is largely due to the steady mealworm and Bark Butter supply we offered. ;) Our highest count was 24 bluebirds! They are streaming back in again as the colder temps are settling in. You also may remember a very special Pine Warbler or two that would take the live mealworms by hand. Well. . .One in particular is back as well!!! We are so excited! Yesterday, phenomenal local photographer and friend, Jim Hansen paid us a visit, and took some shots out on our Wildlife Viewing Platform. He was very kind to share this great shot of a male bluebird saying hello while having a tasty mealworm snack. You gotta love Buttons the seed snowman in the background too! :) He makes a GREAT gift for the nature lovers on your holiday shopping lists!
