Its crazy how quiet it is outside... There is a stillness in the air that puts me on edge. A few of my friends know what that means, its the same feeling as driving through a deserted market. No people, no vehicles, no animals.. There is the faintest hint of smoke in the air and if you pause and truly Listen.. You can here just barely the echo of sirens in the wind. This is not the America I wanted to come back to, but its the one we have now. I hope those who serve stateside, police/fire/EMS, stay safe. Its easy to judge when youre not the one under the weight of the armor and the gun. Choices are a lot clearer in your chair made from the other side of a TV or a monitor, abroad and apparently at home now too. Violence is rarely the answer, but when it is it must be the only answer. Fierce, swift and without hesitation. At home or abroad you owe it to your family and friends to come home. Second to that is the duty you owe to the people of the United States to exhaust every possibility of peaceful resolution to conflict. Its a sad day when these basic principles of war, grand or small, must be used on the streets of our own cities within our great nation..
