Its crazy to see how cruel people can be on the internet. Ive gotten it for years and I have seen the same for friends. Today I saw some really hateful comments on several cosplay profiles and I just had to say something about it. Cosplayers dont make their costumes for you. Really..... we are all just doing what we love. The characters/designs we like, because we want to. Whatever the choice may be, someone else cannot presume to know why we choose to cosplay a certain character/design or why we chose to construct it that way. Maybe a cosplayer has limited funds, limited time, wants to try something new, etc. How does that choice affect you? Worry about yourself and never about how unqualified someone is to your standards. Sure, everyone has an opinion and that is fair, but to put someone down for it and assuming to know a persons choice is downright mean. We shouldnt be forced to cope with the cruelty of others, because I guarantee most of the haters would never say it to our faces. As a matter of fact, those who are happy with themselves are more likely to be accepting, generous, and successful. Be kind to others, as respect is the greatest thing you could do for someone else! And for anyone who cosplays and wants to cosplay: COSPLAY WHAT YOU WANT, HOW YOU WANT! It doesnt matter what race you are, what gender you are, how you look, how much you weight, how skimpy your costumes are..... this is about creativity, art, and about doing something that will be rewarding for you. Never let others put you down!
