Its crazy you can go your whole life believing things, never asking questions, expecting that everything you know is the truth and then....I didnt even wonder why my grandfathers name was never brought up. He died before I was born or so Id thought. All Id ever heard was that he shot my grandmother and was the reason she was in a wheelchair until she died. Today I decided to ask questions only to discover he shot my grandmother in cold blood in the neck from behind like a coward then put his 357 in his mouth and killed himself while they were babysitting me and my sister. My sister was 3 and I was only 3 weeks old. After watching my grandmother cook, clean, fold clothes, fix things around the house with a smile on her face from a wheel chair for 17 years and never complain I wasnt surprised when I heard that after being shot and paralyzed she still had the strength to dial 911. But the biggest shock of the day was that after 26 years I finally found out that my grandfather wasnt even my real grandfather. My real grandfather was sent to prison when my mom was a kid...talk about family secrets huh
