Its #factfriday! Did you know... FMAS has the only FREE spay/neuter program for pit bulls/pit mixes in all of New Hampshire? We have fixed over 615 owned pit bulls in Manchester since our Fix-a-Pit program started back in 2009! If you live in Manchester and own a pit bull, please contact the shelter at 603.628.3544 to get on the wait list for our Fix-A-Pit clinics. This will include spay/neuter of your pit bull, rabies and distemper vaccinations and microchip ALL FOR FREE!! No income requirements, just need to be a Manchester NH resident. Pit bulls account for 1/3 of all dogs that enter shelters. Sadly in this country only 1 out of every 600 pit bulls get adopted. We believe offering a free spay/neuter program for owned pit bulls will ultimately help reduce the number of pit bulls homeless and ending up in shelters. Other local programs: For others that have pit bulls outside of Manchester or those that have other breeds, you can contact ARVS for low cost spay/neuter arvsonline.org.
