Its fall break! I get to wear jeans tomorrow! I get 0 time off...I have to prove measurable gains to justify providing therapy for each client....navigate my way through medicaid with corporate hot breath on my neck. Talk productivity and written up if I do not meet expectations for quota every month. Track down clients....figure a way to get them to med day....food and shoes and then Im . ..sent to the cafeteria / library to provide trauma therapy in public...Im only important when someone screams suicide! Allowed 1 hour per grade at every school ...so I look like a meth head with bags of toys for play therapy....rejected when i provide evidence based interventions for classrooms I work every summer, every Christmas, every fall and spring every easter , every snow day ...9 - 10 hours per day, the pressure is unbelievable. ..the pay and benefits are as well! Im a mental health worker...work in schools and while Im not entitled to a break I damn sure deserve one. Id like to enter the race one day.... to be included in a conversation about budgeting but my profession does not scream loud enough! ....so Im doing my part with this post! I want to be a union representative for MHP!
