The high will weaken over southeastern Australia from Sunday, gradually relaxing the ridge. A large, complex low pressure system lies over the Tasman Sea and is expected to shift further east during the weekend, decreasing the winds over southeast districts of Queensland. Fresh to strong and gusty southwesterly winds about southeast Queensland including southern waters. A trough moving northwards through southeast Queensland will lead to strong winds being maintained over southern waters, and may lead to a light shower or two developing about the exposed coast and islands in the evening. Monday 21 July The high should maintain fine, cool and dry conditions across most of Queensland as it continues contracting to the southeast.
