Its funny... When confronting the idea of trying romance again - TopicsExpress

Its funny... When confronting the idea of trying romance again directly it requires both trust for others and distrust for your own experiences. You spend your whole life discovering why you should never trust anyone no matter how far you might actually be able to throw them, but you know that you need to trust someone somewhere because people are just generally good for each other when they care about each other. Caring about each other is a human instinct with evolutionary purpose, but beyond that... It just genuinely feels nice when someone that you care about cares about you. It can solve abnormalities and chemical imbalances, and sometimes the thought just sounds like a nice thing. Sometimes, though, you just want a hug and youre trying to rationalize loneliness with fear and escapism. So how do we know the difference? How do we know that were actually willing or able to trust a human being with that sort of intimate understanding of ourselves without risking equally destroying ourselves? Or is the risk the point, actually? Does it make sense to rationalize emotional risk for the possibility of feeling good for a period of time?
