Its funny how Katy Perrys Wide Awake seems to have popped up at some of the most apropos moments of my life. When it was popular and being played all the time a couple of years ago, Id just struggled through one of my miserable hospitalizations. Yesterday, it was the song playing when I woke up from my third day of sleeping more than eight straight hours. Thats a feat I have been unable to accomplish in about five months; a period in which I had been averaging 10-15 hours of sleep a week. Wanna know what that does to your brain? Mush...mush, I tell ya. And the kicker is, all I had to do was stop being a stubborn jackaninny and go to the doctor. Lesson learned...I will never, ever make that mistake again. I admit that make more than my fair share of mistakes, but i pride myself on not making them twice. Sometimes, the perspective one gains after being able to properly open their eyes for the first time in a long time is literally awesome. And I know what literally means. So for those of you who have asked about my health, I can assure you: after three days on proper medication to accompany proper sleep for the first time since before Memorial Day, I am better than ever.
