Its getting close to the season when you will hopefully be packing elk or other animals out of the hills and to your freezer. We did this video to show people how you break down an animal into manageable quarters and pack it out on your back. What you see here is a whitetail deer. An elk is pretty much the same process. By showing a whitetail deer, it gives some context to an animal most hunters have opportunity to hunt, providing practice for the day when you have a bull elk laying on the ground and you are wondering how you will get it to the trailhead without it spoiling. The order in which you take these parts from the animal is not critical. If this were an elk, I would probably start at the hind quarters and work my way up. The point is to show the cuts needed and the pieces you will end up with. Hope you learn something. Please share with your friends. Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Caribou Gear youtu.be/_7AHA2TyqHo
