Its great to hear the old school solid on-air jocks of Dick Biondi, John Records Landecker, Brant Miller and Casey Kasem on the WLS-FM oldies station (94.7) in Chicago. They were all major influences on me as a broadcaster and I still use their techniques today as I do my "Music Diversity Protection Program With Jay Nichols" podcast. They were just as important to me as Jamie Button & Shena Omotola as later influences. John Records Landecker and his actress daughter, Amy Landecker, were frequent customers at a video store that I used to manage in the Gold Coast area 20 years ago. They were wonderful people to know. The one thing that threw me for a loop was hearing "Shout" by Tears For Fears being played on an oldies station. I remember when that was considered "weird alternative music" back in 1985.
