Its hella funny to me all these people making fun of fans that follow players, not teams. When did it become a negative to have a rooting interest in a player? How many Bulls fans were fans pre Jordan, then how many were Bulls fans post Jordan...exactly! Certain players come along once in a lifetime that make want to pull for them regardless where they play. I enjoyed watching Lebron play for the Cavs, I enjoyed watching Wade carry the Heat, I thoroughly have enjoyed watching them join forces on the Heat against all the haters. Ive watched the hate for the heat grow so intense in fact that you loyal fans that cant stand bandwagon fans jump ship and join in on collective hate against the Heat, when you didnt even have a rooting interest otherwise. You know who you are, the Lakers fans that were all of a sudden Spurs fans against the Heat, you i dont care who wins as long as its not the Heat See the only difference between us really is that my interest in a player outside of an allegiance to a team is rooted in appreciating talent, intrigue in legacy and the pulling for players that approach the game the right way. Your interest is in discrediting accomplishments, marginalizing talent, negative sentiments, and hatred. You can root for your favorite player that has been caught with narcotics, dui, complain about the franchise they are employed by, demand trades, ask for more money and cripple their ability to sign other talent, openly criticize teammates, put their own gain over that of the team. Then hate on players that go about their business the right way. If thats what a loyal fans plight is I dont want anything to do with it.
