Its more than unheard of, because Im also confused about the news of a rapper getting life in prison for, supposedly, a gun on an album cover. I wish I could examine all this evidence for myself. It would take all my life to do. Do we really need all this gang culture, though? I dont get that. I move my life as far away from these kinds of behaviors as I can get. Once I had a choice, I chose to be ... sane. Live for ... something that helped people. All sides have to decide whats important to live for. Yes, every life is important. Black lives matter and are important. My life matters, too. Tell me the whole story. Im getting a lot of memes that are leaving off things. Like, killing a dog while committing a burglary. WTH is a sixteen-year-old boy doing in a house with somebody in it carrying a gun? For the second time - a second conviction. We want fair trials and fair sentencing. Additionally, keep the hell out of houses that you have no right being in, and what was the gun in your hand for? Burglary is not the right use for a gun, young man. As far as the rapper with a gun on the cover being sentenced to life in prison because of his art, if its because of his art, string up the court. If its because he shot somebody, lets talk about that. I want facts, and facts alone. Some people NEED to go to jail. Which ones and how long is what needs to be sorted out, and all these slanted stories are not helping anything. It makes me angry when I read a headline that wins my heart and then I find out Im being duped into believing something thats really a bait and switch. WHEN did burglary with a firearm become a good thing? When did it become safe, and all right, and something to be overlooked? I dont care what color you are, burglary is BAD. You burglarize, you go to jail - period.end.dot. And when you get out, DONT DO IT AGAIN like this dog-shooting boy did. How am I supposed to be effective in my activism if you want me to go to bat for you for burglary, second offense? Could you do me a favor, and stop committing crimes before you ask for my energy to scream for fairness on your behalf? Ive got concerns for young black people nervous about going back and forth to school and to baseball practice without getting shot - not doing anything wrong but always under suspicion, for being stopped for nothing, and falsely accused of things. But asking me to feel sorry for true criminals is nuts. People need to stay on the right path, and stop being all crazy. We want to erase the lines of prejudice and privilege, not right and wrong.
