Its no surprise to anyone that Im a huge Missy Higgins fan, not only because of her music but because of her commitment to honesty, finding out who she really is and has an earthy soulness about her, that I find hard to beat. I guess I just love her. Ive been listening (on repeat) to her version of Calm and Crystal Clear while looking at an image of the most beautiful owl that is blind, he has what looks like, constellations of stars in his eyes, and I find him so heavenly. Sometimes late at night, in the quiet, I feel words and feelings that I cant when its busy and noisy. This song combined with the vision of this beautiful owl, were my muse and inspiration and these words flowed from my heart. I hope you like them. On the eve of New Years 2014, the last day of this year for us Aussies, let me say this....thanks everyone for your love and support this year everyone. I mean it. I am very grateful. Blessings of aloha upon you all in the richest sense, may we all become more united and more loving, let us all see each other as the brothers and sisters and family that we truly are. Love, Karin xox The Scars are our Revelations by Karin Taylor Listened to Missy and I saw The constellations in your eyes The stars spoke to me of truth And peace and justice And midnight blue And I fell in love again With you and you and you Deeper than the space Between each universe and every ocean swirling as my heart leapt and hurled all of my thoughts like ancient fronds unfurling And everything mysterious, Was spinning on its axis I witnessed the purest of loves In that beautiful face And although you cant see me I know you can feel me And all the immortal spheres spoke to me in voices Id never heard before Like waterfalls And angels singing As they gathered together From all their rich extremities Preaching the enormity of your beauty And how we were meant to be And of how far weve journeyed So far apart from it In order to be free And of how we need To return to the brilliance that is within the You and the Me Of how we have departed From the purest simplicity We have complicated unity We have diluted humanity Lost our originality In the black hole of division That divides and distances us We have seen our uniquity As justification For the segregation Of our kingdoms And our peoples We have lost our ability To see with perspective Or perceive the light In one anothers eyes We no longer see the stars And constellations In each others faces The scars are the revelations We have forgotten We are governed by something More powerful than our blood We are family, we are one-love How have we have forgotten We are the brothers and the sisters We are family, we are ministers We are children and the fathers and the mothers We are aunties and uncles We are the story tellers and the story keepers.
