Its no wonder this post-Christian, pagan society has latched onto Scripture out of context to try and justify its sins against God. They borrow from the words of Jesus , but dont follow Him. You do not understand the command to Judge not, lest you be judged until you understand what it means to use righteous judgment, which separates right from wrong according to Gods standards, not mens. Scripture constantly instructs us to hate what is evil and love what is good. In fact, it frowns upon the unwise who are devoid of judgment and relegates that to lost souls who dont know God. What is in view in Matthew 7 when Jesus tells His followers not to judge, is coming to a condemning conclusion about a person based upon their behavior. We are constantly instructed to judge behavior, ideologies and teachings (as Jesus, in the same chapter instructs do not cast your pears before swine and warns about false prophets), but we cannot arrive at a final judgement on someones heart and soul, b/c we are not authorized to do that by the Creator. Thats why we should never for instance, call someone who struggles with laziness a sluggard. That is like swinging the gavel, condemning them to that disposition of heart without any hope for repentance or change. This is what Jesus meant when He said, judge not that you be not judged. Dont let the modern, pagan culture tell you that it is wrong to judge sin and right from wrong. We do it every day b/c we are supposed to. We have to judge matters in order to stay out of trouble, b/c we need to know what trouble actually is. But judge yourself first. Judge your own heart and motives by Gods Word and you will be able to help others find their way.
