Its not a t4 I know, but it is going to make way for one if that counts? 1985 Volkswagen Passat 1.8l 4+E Hatchback I bought this car last year and have done a few cosmetic things and a hell of a lot of mechanical items. The guy I bought it from had found it at a auction, at the time a one owner car, had driven it for the summer and then sold it to me. It currently has 50800 miles, tax till end of March and a year’s MOT as of Monday. It has central locking, power steering, electric sunroof, MP3 player and drives well and is quite nippy for its age. A really good everyday retro cruiser. It has never been welded and the underneath is still exceptionally solid and under sealed. As the 3rd owner I brought it back to sunny Kent and have been using it as a daily driver quite happily until a cheap VW T4 came up, and now thanks to the Mrs not wanting 3 cars she is up for Sale. I have done the following since ownership (mainly for preventative maintenance) and have receipts for parts to prove: · New Cam belt and Aux Belts · New water pump · All new wheel bearings · New Alternator (noisy Bearing) · New Radiator · Thermostat · 4 Monroe Shocks · Powder coated G60 Steels (original 14” snowflakes come with the car) · 4 Yokohama Parada Tyres (1000 miles old) · Oil filter · Oil · Air filter · Plugs · Leads · Boot Gas struts · Rotor Arm · Dizzy Cap · Tracking · Kenwood MP3/Radio · Pressed Metal ‘D’ style number plates · Locking Petrol Cap · Earlier style Grill and Fog Lights (originals come with car) · Full exhaust system from Manifold back As you can tell there have been some serious £££’s thrown her way and she really is a pleasure to drive. There are some bad points (as to be expected of a 29 year old car). It has some rust appearing around all 4 arches, a few age related dings as well as the typical drooping 80’s headliner. There are a few garage dings in the bonnet from paint tins probably, but overall she does look good in the sunlight, having been obsessively cleaned and waxed in my ownership. I think she is a bargain at £1600, but I am open to offers for enthusiasts, before it goes onto eBay next week.... First dibs to you guys based near Dartford in Kent P/M me with questions
