Its not just about blind sentimentality, its about what was a once flourishing rock scene being slowly pushed out of existence and not necessarily due to lack of interest. The Academy and the Arena are fine and dandy for bands who have already made a name, but they all have to start somewhere and they start playing places like Trillians. As I have stated elsewhere, if it isnt working as a conventional pub business then maybe we need to start thinking unconventionally, if we cant find some unconventional thinkers in the Trillians crowd we might as well all get our coats.
