Its not official unless the world of Facebook has been told!!!! After over 10 years of working as a National Account Manager in 2 major suppliers, I have submitted my final resignation in this industry, finishing at the end of Jan 2015. I have had some fantastic and challenging times in my career. Looking back over the years makes me cringe and smile. Some of my best memories include, being one of 250 people recognised in 2006 as the best sales person in the world, and awarded the Pepsico ROH by being flown first class to New York to visit Head Office for a week. Winning multiple £1m accounts, my aptitude scores being used as the bench mark entry level into the company, 3 promotions in 2 years in my early days, meeting many celebrities, staying in some amazing hotels, being covered in mud on activity days, running across the Warwickshire countryside in a hunt for a ‘bomb’, building numerous rafts and falling in the water….every time, being Marilyn Monroe in a Spirit Group Video, working with some awesome well recognised brands such as Pepsi & Mars and the 2 day conferences with a free bar! Some of the not so great memories include, being propositioned ‘would you like to come to my room for a coffee…wink, wink’, in order to win a massive account (needless to say we were not awarded the business), admitted to Cardiff Hospital after collapsing in Booker Cash & Carry with a severe kidney infection, having to climb Snowdon and then camp that night, the numerous dressing up and presenting occasions, staying at Butlins, stacking local supermarket shelves for a week before Xmas and being spotted by your exs mum, flogging the arse out of Freekee Soda, Limegrove and Fruit Spring to save from delist (does anybody remember these?) working with some idiots, not backing up my laptop, the coperate world and the hours I have wasted on the motorways. There is probably loads I’ve missed out, but in reality what I will miss the most is, the people (especially my current team members), a new executive car every 3 years, modest salary, juicy bonuses, fantastic hotel stays, product samples and cooperate hospitality! Watch this space for my new adventure!
