Its not so much about *what* agricultural food you eat; Its all about ending industrial farming ~ David Hartley writes: I am not posting this article as a statement of right or wrong. I am posting it because I found it informational regarding a debate that interests me, and thought it might interest some of you. The problem is not veganism vs. meat eaters, the problem is industrialized food, whether plant or animal. (You might wanna check out Dan Barber, too, on the subject of sustainability, if you are so inclined ...) I post this piece hesitantly, because folks I love dearly are hard core vegans, but, we are close friends precisely because we understand that any of us should not be shoulding anothers philosophy on each other. (boy, thats a spiral inside a spiral, huh?) ~ As Mother Theresa liked to say, You cant create world peace by hitting someone over the head with your peace sign. Im re-iterating ~ and its funny, because I often post controversial bits on my page, and no matter how many times I re-iterate, there are those folks who steamroll right over it ~ so, I am RE-ITERATING that I am not posting this for debate, but for those who are also intrigued by the question. I am intrigued by the question. The debate in the comments of the article, itself, are quite interesting, more informational, actually, than the interview ~ if you leave out the righteous ones! But, the interview with Lierre does make me want to read her book. One thing she says that I think I might grok is that there is no personal answer. Now, that intrigues me, as I always think my own integrity is what matters. But, I see, here, that Lierre is talking about a larger vision, a vision that transcends and includes my own .... That I am actually not gonna change a thing by own choice in this issue, because its not about plant or animal ~ its about ending industrialized farming.
