Its official. I started my first day in my new life as North American sales/marketing manager/coordinator for Marzocchi Suspension (Official Page) today. It comes as a bittersweet surrender as I leave behind One Ghost Industries, the business I started up with Ghost Dog in 2006 and reformed with my dear friend Rory. The 1G brand is strong and indeed capable of much growth still but the events over the last year have warn my family and me too thin remain part of it. To coin it properly by paraphrasing some of my favorite songs, there comes a time in every mans life that they no longer want to be the hero and they just want to fight with everyone else. To me, Big Head Todd and the Monsters put it more poetically and poignantly in their song Resignation Superman Hell come flying out of this town A resignation superman And today the bad guys win Cause he turned his cape in Now, he says Yes, Ill turn my back on this world Yes, Ill turn my eyes from this world Oh well... My close friends will understand why the lyrics hit me hard and are so meaningful right now as I turn in my cape and take up my Kent glasses to fight with the mortals. I am truly excited for the future and the products and company I will be representing and I thank all of my friends who have supported One Ghost over the last six years as a bike brand and those of you I met through it. The learning experience is likened to a PhD thesis and now I will take that new knowledge with me back to the big M. Big Head Todd was right; Life is just a circle. Cheers to the future!
