Its official: Teachers and school system employees will receive a two percent salary increase beginning next school year. The Newton County Board of Education officially approved its 2014-2015 school-year budget. What passed was the same as the tentative budget approved last month with the addition of $200,000 to be used for increasing elementary paraprofessionals workday and salary by one hour.
