Its official. We lost the ability to fly at Lake City Community - TopicsExpress

Its official. We lost the ability to fly at Lake City Community Center because the Lake City Community Center Board rejected our renewal for next year. 9 years we have flown the birds at the Community Center with no problems. The previous management never had any complaints or problems. Tenants that have known us know we help them to set up and more. We are family at the center. We were told nothing would change. We offered more money. Yes, we had problems being able to run Seattle Parrot Expo but not a single problem that came up was our fault. Like booking other groups to come in post our contract. Painting the building interior the day before set up and more. Yet, we are the ones being punished by equally being removed for no reason that the building has other uses for the space--even though we offered to shell out significantly more money. So, no, the management of the current Lake City Community Center is not very nice and most definitely delivers nothing short of false promise. After all, we, as renters of the building, had to clean disguisting toilets, not the building. And we did it. We never complained about the lack of handicap access for our member in a chair. We worked around it. We have helped everyone at that center ever time we are there. Allowing childern to come in and see us when we would rather just fly. All to help out and this is how we are treated. Nope, sorry, you are out. Upsetting, but we move on.
