Its okay to feel sorry for yourself on occasion, but not all of the time. I was just sharing with some going through some real losses a story I once heard that had a profound impact on me-and wanted to share with all--especially those who have a tendency to feel sorry for themselves too much. There was someone who had terminal cancer and was in the spotlight (I dont recall who or the circumstances) and someone asked her how she could always be so positive. She said she allowed herself 15 minutes of self-pity/sorrow/grief daily (privately) and then went out and lived life. What else could she do-why should she waste time she had left feeling sorry for herself-what good was that-so 15 minutes a day privately its okay to cry/yell, etc. but then get on with living and loving and enjoying what you do have... And, maybe you wont even need 15 minutes everyday-and maybe eventually 1 or 2 minutes will do.
