Its rare to see one team play in the three best games of a given NCAA tournament, but Kentucky has arguably achieved the feat during their path to the Final Four. Butler came close in 2010 with its near half court buzzer beater by Gordon Heyward against Duke, along with wins over Syracuse and Michigan State in the Sweet 16 and Final Four, respectively. The two wins pale in comparison, though, to Kansas States Sweet 16 win over Xavier (in the Gus Johnson game). Kansas also had three memorable wins in 2008, but its Final Four win over Carolina is still remembered for being shockingly lopsided (given that the Tar Heels had four NBA players on its roster). You might have to go back to 1997 when Arizona shocked prohibitive favorite Kansas in the Sweet 16, rebounded from a last-minute collapse in regulation of the Southeast region final to edge Providence in overtime and needed an extra session again to defeat Kentucky in the national championship to find a team that appeared in the tournaments top three games. Each of Kentuckys last three games have been more thrilling than its previous contest -- a monumental task considering that its wins over Wichita State and Louisville were highly entertaining down the stretch. Michigan has nothing to be ashamed of in the defeat. If Kentucky defeats Wisconsin on Saturday, then Florida on Monday neither wins should be considered an upset.
