Its really funny that Ive had the same conversation by accident with 2 people today within an hour of each other about the music industry. Our conversations just ended up talking about the same thing. Heres how it went... What is wrong with music and the music industry lately??? Every song I hear on the radio or is pushed by mainstream media lately is just COMPLETE CRAP! Its like everyone in the industry is only wanting to hear the most weirdest or strangest sounds ever manageable in production on a song so that its so obscure and strange, then they somehow think everyone will like it... NOOOOO!!!! We just want to hear the same amount of genres weve always had to listen to growing up. We want the rock song from a rock band, a pop song from a pop singer, the heavy metal song from a heavy metal band etc. We dont only want one genre of music to be the only sound coming at us from mainstream media cuz Im actually so over it ay. Most of it is complete production value and cannot be done live perfectly without backing tracks... I want to have my favourite bands or every ones favourite bands like Paramore, Fall Out Boy, My chemical romance, panic at the disco etc to carry on with the sound they had when we fell in love with their music, cuz that why we loved them in the first place! Right??? But no because of the way the industry is they are forced to change their sound and come up with something that is against what they should be doing, in a desperate attempt to stay current in a dying industry that they are in, their sound is NOT dying at all!!! They shouldve stayed making the music everyone loved, cuz 99% of the time thats what people want from them. But when they change it people just dont wanna listen to their music. Granted I have stayed listening to only 2 of the bands music I mentioned above only because I want them to keep going. Yeah their music is still amazing but its not what we all wanted from them and we can all collectively agree 100% on that. Just to finish with this... When I contact anyone at the top of the industry all they have to say is oh yeah we arent really in a position to accommodate this project at the moment. So what does that mean??? You dont want rock music because it just magically doesnt sell anymore (all of a sudden?) I dont think so, weve had rock music around since the 60s mate, sooooo many people prefer it to all this pop crap!!! Why cant we enjoy what we do and love, write the music we want to make and be good at music??? Cuz thats apparently not good enough anymore? Sheeeesh what the hell??? haha! Anyone???
