Its release day for A DAY OF FIRE: A Novel of Pompeii!!!!!! I wrote the introduction for this book, and I CANNOT say enough fantastic things about it. When Mount Vesuvius erupted nearly two thousand years ago, the people who either didnt or couldnt flee were killed and preserved in the ash. You can still see these human sculptures today-men trying to flee, children cowering beneath staircases, a pregnant woman covering her head.... Completely horrifying. Yet the entire city of Pompeii was preserved, and in A DAY OF FIRE, six fabulous authors tell the story of the people caught up in this devastating act of nature. A highly highly recommended read!!
