Its so easy thinking like a cat :) Sneak peek from new story I just started. I am going to REALLY love this character. Chapter 1 It was nap time. I was curled up in my favorite spot by the window, enjoying the heat of the sun cradling me in its gentle embrace. There was only one or two windows that afforded the appropriate amount of heat, at the correct time of day, this time of year. I have a very strict schedule that must be adhered to or I get a touch cranky. I shifted my position to allow my stomach to get warmer, my back was warm enough. I heard soft footsteps approaching me. I dislike disturbances. “Guardian Akoko, please forgive my intrusion.” “Why? If I forgave you would you intrude less?” “I am sorry Guardian, but the time is approaching,” my disturber stated. I rolled over and opened one eye. The source of the intrusion was a small fellow, probably not even 5 years into service on the guard. He seemed twitchy, either this was his first Hallowing or I made him nervous. Why they feel the need to remind me when the most important day of the year is is simply beyond me. Its not like I havent been through 30 Hallowings already and I do have an excellent sense of time. “Really? The time approaches? I thought perhaps this year time was going in reverse.” I rolled up onto my paws, placed one over the other and stared at Twitchy. “Dont you have something less trivial to do?” Twitchy took a step back and stammered, his tail and head low. “N...no? This was what I had been directed to do.” “Oh relax, I am not going to bite you. Would be a waste of energy.” I arched my back, stretched both front and back legs and sat down. “Are you supposed to guide me somewhere? Which, might I add is another trivial activity. Unless the Guard is breaking with hundreds of years of tradition I know where I am going.”
