Its so easy to become disappointed.... have you ever noticed? Our hearts become burdened by so many varying degrees of issues and circumstances. I remember one time on a super low budget trip to Florida with one of my best friends, we arrived at our destination only to find we somehow had left the Chef Boyardee ravioli behind.... awwwwwww :(.... The beach is over there, but the excitement has grown dim in light of the missing can. A melted popsicle can cause that same oh no feeling when you find it in liquid form rather than a frozen state. Or when youre so hungry and you get home with your to go sandwich to find mayonnaise all over it, and you really cant stand mayonnaise :) A vacation youve waited for so long finally arrives, and you end up sick that week. So disappointing.... Imagine when its a person you hoped really loved you, but they didnt. A loved one leaves you here on earth to press on while they depart to eternity. A child has hurt your heart by decisions you know will not benefit their future. People betray you, loss of friendship, or worse, you live with the weight of disappointing yourself and others, knowing you could have and should have done better..... You find yourself somewhere in life you never fathomed you would be. The enemy will flat weigh you down with disappointment. What to do? Romans 5:3-5 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. God create in us grateful and confident hearts that endure and strengthen with each passing trial ♡
