Its so heartwarming to see Vajpayees govt being remembered fondly a decade later. There was no magic there, only decisive action and strong-willed nationalism. Corruption is a problem, yes, but it exists largely out of peoples desperation and poverty. We simply do not have a large enough economy to sustain 1 billion+ people right now, corruption or not. The immediate need is to develop robust infrastructure, manufacturing and finances and we need a leader who has this kind of focus The secular fabric of India has been weakened by shrewd reservation and appeasement policies, much more than riots that some shady fanatics indulge in.
