Its so important to understand that groups like ISIS in specific, and radical Islam in general, are based on ideas. Right or wrong, an idea cannot be defeated with tanks, bombs, bullets, or occupations. It can only be defeated with better ideas. Most Muslims are peaceful people who view terrorists the way you or I view Klan members or Neo-Nazis. What are we doing to show *THOSE* people that we are their friends? How many Islamic viewpoints and perspectives are expressed in Western media? How welcome do you really think Muslims feel in many American communities? These are the things that need to change because ultimately, as a nation state, ISIS is pathetic. It could never invade us or stand up to us in a real fight. As a beacon of ideas though, it will continue to broadcast and only be emboldened by our efforts to stamp it out, until we can show the Muslim world there is a better option, that doesnt require them to make a choice between totally abandoning their culture for ours or suffering under the boots of medieval era loons.
