Its such a disillusioning feeling when one realises the things we - TopicsExpress

Its such a disillusioning feeling when one realises the things we felt about the establishment when we were children are just fake. How many of us, like myself, thought as a child that the prime minister was extremely dignified and a person of the utmost integrity. I remember that that was what I was led to believe. What I have learned is not only the opposite, but also that those who WOULD have been PMs who DID possess those qualities, like Tony Benn and Michael Foot, would never have been allowed to become PM because of the shocking demonising of them by most of the British press. Now we realise we have for all of our lives have had an establishment riddled with crooks, liars, paedophiles or all three. What a sorry make up call it is. We were all encouraged to celebrate at street parties, the prince of Wales investiture ceremony, the queens silver jubilee and many royal weddings. Now we realise that they were all too friendly with Jimmy bloody Savile, and were protecting him to the hilt without any of us being provided with a logical or rational reason why. What a disappointment and yet enlightening thing it all is. Ultimately I am glad I know that we have all been taken for a ride, even though the truth can be a bitter pill.
