Its ten before two Oclock in the morning. One would expect all - TopicsExpress

Its ten before two Oclock in the morning. One would expect all manner of life to be silently nestled in and a-slumber at such a time. But no, there remains a small rodent of the tree-dwelling variety chit-chittering away out-side my dwelling. Some may find the cheek-and-tooth noise of a squirrel to be rude, but I find comfort in such. It reminds me of my place in this world, and of Grey-Backs (as is the only suitable name for such a creature) very similar position. Here I lie, wishing only to be outside enjoying the view of a mountainsides starry night. Just a short distance from me, my furry friend sits awake in a similar state of discontent. Oh how wise and mighty man may consider himself in all his efforts to appear at a higher state than those without the ability to voice their complaints. Yet, in the end of everything, its nothing more or less than bare emotions and the reactions they tend to draw forth. Perhaps I shall rise and find something edible to give my little friend. Then again, perhaps I shall rest deeper in the night with the thought that another so close will share in my disgruntled nature. And yet even still, who is to say food is the crux at which he is most irritated? Truly, to even suspect that such a primal urge is what brings his anger squawking out is a rude judgment showing my lack of character. Whats to say it isnt heartbreak or fear of failure or that he may lack the ability to leave a lasting mark on his society of nut-hoarders? And if such is the case, how willingly ignorant might I look, approaching such a creature lost within himself and his fears of so great an existential crisis, with nothing more than the trite offerings of what a meal might give. No, I shall lie still, and let action lie dormant to desire. There may be no venture to-night, saving me from both gain and embarrassment. Unless, of-course, such comes with the dreams I may soon fall prey to...
