Its that time again: Kate Bush Cover Tuesday! So, this is it. This is the song that allowed me to discover Kate Bush. Until I spotted Kates greatest hits tape on my friend Genes table I thought Wuthering Heights had been a Pat Benetar song. Upon examining Kates tape I discovered that was not the case. Gene would not allow me to listen to the tape as it was late, and he would not allow me to borrow the tape because it was getting serious play in his car. Now bear in mind Gene was into Laurie Anderson and Vangelis and at the time I was purely into hard rock like Van Halen, Queen and Sammy Hagar, so if Gene was a fan of Kate Bush I was a little leery. All the same, I had to hear her version of Wuthering Heights. One visit to Flipside Records in Clawson, Michigan later and I was hooked. Oh, and as for how I feel about Pats cover? I like it, but compared to the original and the new vocal found on Kates greatest hits album it, well, doesnt compare. youtu.be/TZcLMVCsH14
