Its that time of year when students across the country are preparing to head back to school. Yet as our kids are sent school supply lists, our girls in particular are being pressured to focus on their beauty rather than their inner value. The messages girls receive through ads, articles and tutorials have real consequences. According to a recent study, young girls spend an average of 7.7 hours every week obsessing over their appearance, which amounts to over two weeks every year...Because there are only so many hours in the day, when girls dedicate a large portion of their time to their outward appearance, it takes away from other important activities.
