Its the 3rd round of 1973 baseball draft. The Sox decide to draft a southpaw from Ashland University, Ken Kravec. Kravec turns 63 today. Born in Cleveland and played his high school sports at Mid-Park High in Middleburgh Heights in Ohio. He was drafted 4 years earlier, by the Tribe in the 29th round. But did not sign and played at Ashland University instead. Wearing number 27, he breaks in with the Sox in 1975. Pitches on the southside from 1975 thru 1980. His best season, would be a 15 game winner in 1979. After the 1980 season, he is traded to the north side and the Cubs for Dennis Lamp
