Its the day after Easter. Now, what? Do you file away the stories about Christs suffering, crucifixion and resurrection and go on living your life your own way. Or do you vow that you are going to worship God on His terms and not waste the sacrifice that was made for all of us? Heres a list of some changes that we can all make that will bring us more in line with how God wants us to live our lives: 1. Support missions through donations and volunteering. Remember, immediately after the resurrection, Christ said, Go you, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Matthew 28:19. 2. ENGAGE in Sunday School. Dont enroll. Dont attend. ENGAGE. Actually study your Bible. Apply the lessons your Sunday School lesson book provides. Take home the lesson from Sunday School and research it on your own. Spend as much time in the Word as you do at your hobby or watching tv or updating facebook. Luke 24:45 reminds us that God will open our understanding, that we might understand the scriptures. 3. Admit that everything you have and everything you earn comes from God. Without His generosity, none of it would happen. Commit to giving back. Remember, the 10% tithe comes from the Old Testament. In the New Testament, God has given us numerous causes we are to support. So many, that if we truly followed His direction, our giving would greatly exceed 10%. Start giving, today. Today. Today. 4. Change your life. Change the way you appear to others. Change your thoughts. Change your attitudes. Change your priorities. Mark 16:12 says, After that he (Jesus) appeared in another form. Just as the resurrection provided Jesus with His heavenly body, the resurrection should change each one of us. Is the resurrection just another story that really has no impact on our lives? Dont let that happen. Take the gift from our Father and use it to change yourself, forever. FBC Devotional Team
