Its the first day of November, so that means its time to take a look back at Octobers weather. Overall, a warmer and wetter October. WARNING: Lots of numbers! Our average high was 66.6° compared to a normal average of 65.6°. Low temperatures reflect that trend just as well. This months average low was 48.3° compared to a normal of 41.1°. Our highs werent significantly warmer, but those lows surely were! We normally see about six days with freezing temperatures, but not this year. According to our records, the Burg hasnt gotten below freezing yet. On the other end of the spectrum, temperatures reached 80° or above twice! One of those times was just last week. We normally see about 2.52 of rain in October, but this year we received a whopping 3.96. Almost half of October saw rainy days. Rain was recorded on 15 out of the 31 days. Normally, that number is 9. That could be responsible for our warmer than normal lows, since more rain is associated with higher dew points, and those higher dew points keep temperatures from dropping too low. All the rain has really helped, since this summer was so dry, but were still a bit below where we should be for the year. Our year-to-date rainfall is now at 30.85.
