Its the most wonderful time of the year, so the song says. So why is it that the song that keeps going through my head is Blue Christmas? Is it all the senseless killing of the children in Pakistan? Is it all the injustices against certain groups of people, like gays, blacks, Hispanics? Why is it so hard for us to allow our neighbor to live his life without judgement from us? All anyone wants is for their children to be able to play, grow, and learn so they can become loving, productive people. I always understood that God was the sole judge, not me. Or is it all the homeless people and all the children that go to bed without enough food in their stomachs to allow them a peaceful nights sleep? Or families that are falling apart because its easier to divorce than to honor the vows taken and to work things out? Or perhaps I can blame my blues on all this gray, damp weather we are having. Or my recent illness and all the extra medication Im on. Or the trips I had planned to take, but now I cant? It could be any or ALL of these things. But I do believe that a little more PEACE ON EARTH would go a long way in changing the song in my head to ITS THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!
