Its time to get another one of these. Many people have opinions about hard drive reliability and my computer mentor Wayne at PC-Fix Rancho Cucamonga has convinced me the laptop size hard drives (like the one below) have a failure rate of zero vs. the larger 5 hard drives which he sees come in on a regular basis. So the recommendation is the USB3 type portable drives like this. Of course Wayne thinks keeping it to 750MB or less is ideal for even higher reliability, but really with the size of files on modern cameras, 750MB goes in a blink so Im working with 2TB. Theres something about the gap from the write head to the disk platter and possible issues going into the higher storage capacities, but I havent had any problems with the 2TB and it lasts me about a years worth of files.
