Its true. Affordable Care Act author, Jonathan Gruber, told a group of students that American voters are too stupid to know what they need. In a video posted by CNN cnn/2014/11/13/opinion/cupp-gruber-obamacare/ mr Gruber stated that we just tax insurance companies they pass on higher prices that offsets the tax burden we get and it ends up being the same thing. Its a very clever basic exploitation of the lack of economic understanding of the American voter. All I can really say is that its nice to see him state something honest for once. If this isnt the most damning evidence of what happens when individuals are appointed to create a nanny state I dont know what is. When he says lack of economic understanding of the American voter he is basically calling all of us (yes you and me) idiots. What i found interesting is this is not the first time he has down talked Americans. Recently, in another video https://youtube/watch?v=G790p0LcgbI gruber said that lack of transparency was the key to getting the Affordable Care Act passed in the first place. In other words, keeping everyone in the dark that the bill was going to be paid out like a tax saying that if was passed that way, it would have died.If he would have said healthy people are going to pay in so sick people get money it wouldnt have passed..... Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage said Gruber. What Gruber is saying is instead of having an accountable government, we need one in which the people have no idea what is going on. John F. Kennedy once stated in one of his most famous speeches that as Americans We are against secret societies, oaths and proceedings as a free and open society. Of course, by the time 2016 comes around most everyone is probably going to forget this even happened. Next election season I think we need to reexamine who we are voting for. We need to ask ourselves whether or not the candidate we are choosing will in fact act on behalf of the interests of the American people with our consent or will keep us in the dark because they believe its for our own good. The values of the candidate we are voting for will likely reflect the values of the people they appoint.
