Its two days passed, but I have to tell my all time Halloween scare/prank story. Halloween 1972, Im working 2nd shift in a small rubber manufacturing plant in Ravenna. Mostly women work there. Me and two girls are walking in to start our shift and talking maybe doing something when we get off work. Two girls that work first shift hear us and say well be back at midnight when you get off. Midnight comes ... the two first shift girls show up and tell us they have a plan but we have to put on these blindfolds. Drive around for half hour or so, sipping on beers, and when we stop were out in the woods beside a lake. Were at Brady Lake just outside of Kent, OH. Many of you from northeast Ohio know the legend of Captain Brady escaping from the Indians by jumping the Little Cuyahoga gorge in what is now downtown Kent and hiding in the lake using a reed to breathe through to escape the Indians. Kent State archeology department is excavating some Indian burial site by the lake. Were standing there looking in this hole and talking about Capt. Brady when all of a sudden a werewolf shows up appearing to come out of the hole. We all start running for the car and I get about 1/2 way there and start thinking, so I stop and the werewolf stops about 20 feet away from me. Were just standing there looking at each other and Im thinking I dont know who that is or even what that is for sure so I start running again. It was a good costume. Just then the girls get back to the car and I hear them screaming - another werewolf jumped out of the back seat and started chasing them. We finally all get back in the car, drive away, and wandering what the hell that was all about. Decide that more beer is needed so we stop at a little bar. Just starting our 2nd pitcher when the two 1st shift girls boyfriends walk in. Thats when we knew that wed been had. Still the best Halloween prank Ive ever been involved in.
